This happy boy in Burkhardt. Burkhardt came in missing fur around his eyes and he has been treated for the condition which is just a medicated powder into his dust baths. After several months he is finally showing signs of a lot of fur growing back in but sometimes it can take a while to grow back in. He very much enjoys just having company visiting him near his cage and it almost seems as though he has conversations with you. He is pretty calm but does like to rearrange his cage after cleaning so don't be surprised when nothing is where you left in the night before as he has his own interior design preference. If you want a happy attention loving boy then Burkhardt might be the chinchilla for you! Remember chinchillas need to be kept at temperatures of 70 degrees or lower because of how much fur they have so at minimum you need a window A/C. They do not sweat or pant so fans in the summer time are not enough. They can also live to 20 years so this is a long time commitment.
